QUANTUM or another course on quantum computing.

The first part of the course will focus on several toipcs related to quantum cryptography and quantum information theory. We will in particular make an in-depth study of Quantum Key Distribution. The second part of the course will focus on quantum error correcting codes which is crucial for building quantum computers.

  • Course 1 (AC) Mixed states, POVMs, distance measures, Helstrom measurement, Unambiguous State Discrimination
  • Course 2 (AC) Quantum key distribution
  • Course 3 (AC) Quantum cryptography beyond QKD
  • Course 4 (AC) Quantum information theory, Shannon entropy, Holevo's bound
  • Course 5 (AL) Shor’s code, criteria for error correction, fault tolerance and the threshold theorem
  • Course 6 (AL) The stabilizer formalism and CSS codes
  • Course 7 (AL) Quantum LDPC codes: the toric code and hypergraph product codes
  • Course 8 (AL) Good quantum LDPC codes
